This series captures the enchanting realms of Bodega Bay. The works were inspired by my memories in this coastal region where I have explored the world of mushroom foraging and witnessed the interconnectedness between trees and fungi. There is a special magic that unfolds as I experience these landscapes with friends, gathering the bountiful gifts of Earth Mama. Together, we prepare nourishing meals, celebrating the collective abundance gifted to us by the natural world.

As I delved into the creation of these works, I reflected on the haunting history that shadows the region of Coastal California, in places such as Fort Ross. It is a place that bears witness to the devastating impacts of colonial violence, where ecosystems and Indigenous communities were subjected to horrific exploitation and death. In the midst of crafting these works, I found solace in the opportunity to honor the land through art while ensuring that the memories of these past injustices are never forgotten.

This series reflects a new approach in my creative decision making. By embracing the power of minimalistic forms and shapes, I strive to convey the essence of these landscapes, allowing their intrinsic beauty to shine.
