This collection of femme characters celebrates the sassy, eccentric, unapologetic, and wild woman, who I call femme. Through these portraits, I honor femmes of color and the deep contributions we make within our communities, as well as our journeys of self-healing and transformation. Drawing from the patterns and visual language of my previous work, I wove those elements into the portraits to create a sense of evolution. Throughout the process, I embraced simplicity, focusing on capturing each character’s energy through intentional, concise shapes. This shift away from my usual intricate collages allowed me to experiment with restraint and make deliberate choices that reflect the complexities of our own lives.
