Students and Teachers Deserves Safety

Classrooms should be places of learning, empowerment, and change-making, not fear. Yet students and teachers are confronted with the violent presence of ICE in schools, gun violence, attacks and erasure of Critical Race Theory, and the criminalization of young people. We must demand that schools be safe zones for children and teens, spaces for free expression, critical thinking, and historical truth, because in the world’s wealthiest country, safety in classrooms should be a right, not a privilege. This artwork is a call to defend students and teachers and to remember that schools exist to free our minds and shape the future.
