Aphrodite 6
APHRODITE is a series of collages about pleasure and my human body, which comes from this planet and carries the wisdom of countless beings who lived before me. Our bodies are often forced into rigid binaries, yet they are expansive, mysterious, and powerful containers. It took me two decades to learn how to care for my body instead of exploiting it, after growing up in a culture that glorified overwork and self-sacrifice. Rejecting those messages allowed me to center joy, pleasure, and rest as acts of resistance against capitalism and patriarchy. My work as an artist is to celebrate bodily autonomy, reclaim intuition, and trust my body’s wisdom without shame. Through collage and nude photography, I honor being wild, feral, and fully expressed, inviting others to reconnect with pleasure, nature, and the deep wisdom of feeling it all.
