Organize

In this experimental collage I combined linoleum block elements with text. I often have an excess of material scraps that don't end up in my figurative collages, and I like to be thoughtful about every piece and not create waste. I created this piece after the Georgia election win in early 2021. It represents the tremendous organizing power that helped secure a win for the entire nation. It was the fearless leadership of Black women and other women of color in the South that catalyzed a major win for all impacted communities throughout the country, and this collage celebrates that.
